The World Bank approved a $47.9 million grant funded by the Global Partnership for Education Fund to enhance primary education in Pakistan's Punjab province. The project, titled 'Getting Results: Access and Delivery of Quality Education Services and System Transformation in Punjab,' aims to expand early childhood education, re-enroll out-of-school children, strengthen teacher support, and improve the education sector's resilience to climate change and emergencies. It targets over 4 million children, including 80,000 out-of-school children, 3 million in formal schools, 850,000 in non-formal education, and 140,000 differently-abled children. More than 100,000 teachers and school leaders will benefit from professional development, while parents and communities will be engaged through awareness campaigns. The initiative aligns with the World Bank's goals of reducing poverty and promoting shared prosperity by improving human capital and education quality in Punjab.
