The Kolkata Police have submitted a 650-page chargesheet in the South Calcutta Law College molestation case involving the gang rape of a first-year student on June 25, 2025. The chargesheet names four accused: Manojit Mishra, an alumnus and former temporary staffer; students Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee; and security guard Pinaki Banerjee. Medical and forensic evidence, including DNA matching, confirm the rape. CCTV footage shows the accused holding the victim hostage, and obscene videos filmed through a hole in an exhaust fan were recovered from the accused's phones, used for blackmail. The security guard is accused of locking the guard room instead of alerting authorities. Mishra had prior arrests but was repeatedly bailed out. Ahmed and Mukherjee were expelled, and Mishra was dismissed from the college.
