Pauri Garhwal, October 2024: In a tragic incident, a bus carrying wedding guests plunged into a 200-foot-deep gorge in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, leaving at least 30 people feared dead. The accident occurred late at night when the bus, travellinginous road, lost control and fell into the steep ravine.

The bus was en route to a village in Pauri Garhwal, carrying around 45 passengers who were returning from a wedding ceremony. According to initial reports, the driver appeared to have lost control while navigating a sharp turn on the hilly road, leading to the fatal plunge.
Local authorities and rescue teams were alerted immediately, but the remote location and darkness made rescue efforts extremely challenging. By the time the teams reached the site, several passengers had already succumbed to their injuries.
Rescue Operation Underway
