The Central Board of Secondary Education has opened the registration window for CTET 2026 on the official portal ctet.nic.in. The application process started on November 27, 2025, and candidates have time until December 18, 2025 to complete their registration. This year, the examination is expected to be conducted in 132 cities across the country, with question papers available in twenty different languages. The board is making efforts to expand the test network, allowing candidates from smaller towns to participate more easily. Interested applicants must read the detailed notification carefully before filling out their forms. The exam will follow a multiple-choice question format across five mandatory subjects, each carrying equal weightage. Candidates need to provide personal details, educational qualifications, and upload scanned documents during the application process. Payment can be made through various online modes including debit cards, credit cards, UPI, or net banking.

Application Steps and Exam Structure

To register, candidates must visit ctet.nic.in and click on the new candidate registration link. They need to enter personal information and contact details to create an account. After initial registration, applicants should log in using their registration number to complete the full application form. Educational history and scanned copies of photographs and signatures must be uploaded in the specified format. Payment for the exam can be completed through debit card, credit card, UPI, or online banking. The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions totaling 150 marks. Five compulsory subjects are included: Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and two languages. Each subject contains 30 questions worth 30 marks. Candidates should download the confirmation page for their records after submission.
