The first part of the final season of Stranger Things arrived on Netflix on November 27, 2025. Volume 1 contains four episodes set in 1987, where the main characters fight against Vecna to stop his plans for world domination. Hawkins has become a military-controlled zone as demogorgons continue kidnapping children. Fans are especially concerned about Steve Harrington, played by Joe Keery, who has become one of the most beloved characters since the show began. The group discovers that the old Hawkins Lab might be central to Vecna's plan and decides to investigate. Steve's character has evolved significantly from his initial role as a jock in season one to a fan favourite. Social media has been flooded with messages urging the show's creators not to kill him in the final season.
