Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away on 24 November at the age of 89, leaving the film industry and fans heartbroken. Known as the 'He-Man of Bollywood,' he was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital earlier in the month due to breathlessness. After being discharged on 12 November, he initially showed signs of recovery at home, but his condition worsened unexpectedly in the following days. Filmmaker Anil Sharma, a close family friend and frequent collaborator of the Deol family, revealed that Dharmendra was responsive after returning home and medical experts believed he would recover fully. The actor would have celebrated his 90th birthday on 8 December. He is survived by his wives Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol. His career spanned over six decades.

Filmmaker recalls Dharmendra showed signs of improvement
Director Anil Sharma, who shared a long professional relationship with the Deol family, visited Dharmendra at home after his hospital discharge. He revealed that the veteran actor was responding well, opening his eyes and moving his hands. The medical team treating him expressed confidence in his recovery, calling him a very strong man. Sharma mentioned that everyone, including doctors, believed Dharmendra would fully recover and celebrate his upcoming 90th birthday on 8 December. However, age eventually took its toll. Sharma directed Dharmendra in several films including Hukumat in 1987, Elaan-E-Jung, Farishtay, and Tahalka. He also worked extensively with Sunny and Bobby Deol on various successful projects.
