Hombale Films, the production house behind blockbuster movies like K.G.F., Kantara, and Salaar, is reportedly interested in acquiring a stake in the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Current owner Diageo India may sell the team ahead of IPL 2026. The franchise recently won its first IPL title in the 18th season (IPL 2025) and is now valued at approximately USD 2 billion (around INR 17,000 crore). Preliminary discussions between Hombale Films and Diageo have reportedly taken place, though no official confirmation has been issued. The production house has been RCB's official digital partner since April 2023, creating promotional content and match teasers. Other interested buyers include Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, Adani Group, JSW Group, Adar Poonawalla of Serum Institute, and Devyani International. The deal could strengthen RCB's connection with Karnataka's cricket and film fans.

Potential Ownership and Partnership Details
Hombale Films has maintained a business relationship with RCB since becoming their official digital partner in April 2023. The production company has created cinematic match teasers, creative promotional material, and fan engagement campaigns for the franchise. While neither Hombale Films nor Diageo India has officially confirmed the acquisition talks, sources suggest preliminary discussions have occurred. The production house, led by Vijay Kiragandur, faces competition from several high-profile potential buyers including Nikhil Kamath, Adani Group, JSW Group, Adar Poonawalla, and Devyani International. If the deal succeeds, experts believe integrating Karnataka's strong cricketing culture with a leading Kannada film industry powerhouse could significantly boost popularity for both entities before IPL 2026. RCB's recent championship victory has made the franchise particularly attractive to investors.
