The ruling NDA's landslide victory in Bihar has been attributed to the combined efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Speaking in Surat on November 16, 2025, Modi praised the people of Bihar for their political wisdom and credited them for the decisive mandate. The BJP secured 89 seats while its partner JD(U) won 85 seats in the 243-member assembly. Both parties emphasised the success of the "double engine" development model, contrasting it with the opposition's governance record. Modi addressed 14 rallies and one roadshow across various Bihar districts during the campaign, consistently highlighting development projects and schemes focused on the state. The BJP leadership attributes the victory to careful planning, with Modi at the centre, supported by Union Minister Amit Shah's organisational meetings and Bihar in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan's micro-management of election preparations.

Development Vision and Campaign Strategy Behind NDA Success
Leaders from both BJP and JD(U) described the victory as the result of the "double engine" government's development vision. JD(U) working president Sanjay Kumar Jha stated it combined the efforts of Modi and Nitish Kumar. The BJP highlighted the special focus on Bihar in the Union Budget, including the makhana board, western Kosi canal construction, and road and rail projects. Modi's public meetings from February through the poll campaign kept attention on Bihar-centric schemes. Senior BJP leader Samrat Choudhary noted that Modi's rallies covered districts including Samastipur, Begusarai, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Nawada, Bhojpur, Katihar, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Araria, Kaimur, Aurangabad, West Champaran, and Sitamarhi, consistently promoting good governance and agro-based industries.
