LSG 2026 Retentions-Released, Retained & Trade Players List Ahead of IPL 2026

2 min read

Lucknow Super Giants finished seventh in IPL 2025 with six victories from 14 matches, enduring an inconsistent season despite their star-studded lineup. The franchise made headlines by securing Rishabh Pant for a record INR 27 crore at the mega-auction, the highest price ever paid for any player in IPL history. However, Pant struggled to deliver match-winning performances consistently. Their pace attack also faced significant challenges throughout the tournament. Ahead of IPL 2026, LSG have been active in the trade window, acquiring experienced pacer Mohammed Shami from Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 10 crore. They also traded Shardul Thakur to Mumbai Indians in exchange for Arjun Tendulkar. The franchise retained 19 players and released eight, including notable names like David Miller, Akash Deep, and Ravi Bishnoi. With INR 22.95 crore remaining in their purse, LSG will look to strengthen their squad further.

LSG retained 19 players for IPL 2026, including wicketkeeper-batters Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran, all-rounders Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Ayush Badoni, and Abdul Samad, alongside bowlers Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav, and Mohsin Khan. The franchise released eight players, notably David Miller (INR 7.50 crore), Akash Deep (INR 8 crore), and Ravi Bishnoi (INR 11 crore). In the trade window, LSG acquired Mohammed Shami from Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 10 crore and Arjun Tendulkar from Mumbai Indians for INR 30 lakh, while sending Shardul Thakur to Mumbai Indians. These moves aim to address their bowling inconsistencies from the previous season. With a remaining purse of INR 22.95 crore, the franchise has room to strengthen their squad further.
