Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women have appointed former England cricketer Anya Shrubsole as assistant coach for the Women's Premier League's 2026 edition. The 2024 champions are strengthening their coaching staff with Shrubsole's extensive international experience. She will primarily oversee the bowling unit and contribute to the team's strategic planning. Shrubsole brings exceptional credentials from her playing career, having represented England in 173 matches across all formats. She was notably the Player of the Match in the 2017 Women's World Cup final, helping England clinch the title. In Twenty20 internationals, she claimed 102 wickets at an outstanding average of 15.22 with an economy rate of just 5.95. The franchise, led by Smriti Mandhana, won their maiden T20 trophy last season by defeating Delhi Capitals Women in the final. RCB Women believe Shrubsole's championship mindset and bowling expertise will strengthen their pursuit of a second WPL title.
