The first phase of voting for the Bihar Legislative Assembly election concluded with a total voter turnout of 60.25 percent. Polling began at 7 AM and continued until 6 PM across 121 constituencies spread over 18 districts. Begusarai district recorded the highest turnout at 67.32 percent, while Sheikhpura saw the lowest at 52.36 percent. The state capital Patna registered a turnout of 55.02 percent. The Bihar Assembly has a total of 243 seats, and elections are being conducted in two phases. Key districts participating in this phase included Patna, Darbhanga, Madhepura, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, and Siwan. Polling was scheduled to end at 5 PM initially, but reports indicate voting continued until 6 PM. In contrast, Sheikhpura recorded the lowest participation at just 52.36 percent. The state capital Patna saw a moderate turnout of 55.02 percent. Other key districts like Darbhanga, Madhepura, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, and Siwan also participated in this round. Overall, the 121 seats that voted achieved an average turnout of 60.25 percent. Polling stations operated from 7 AM to 6 PM to ensure all eligible voters had the opportunity to cast their ballots. The second phase will decide the fate of the remaining assembly seats.
