He recalled the moment he received a call informing him about his National Award and felt isolated with no one to celebrate the achievement with immediately. When he attended the award ceremony in Delhi, officials asked about his plus one, but he had nobody to bring along. His mother was unwell, and his children were too young to accompany him. Johar explained that loneliness strikes hardest during moments of success rather than failure. He admitted avoiding his dining table to ease the solitude of eating alone. The filmmaker also mentioned feeling particularly lonely during New Year's celebrations when couples are out together. He remains hopeful about finding companionship in the future.
