The campaign began with victories over Sri Lanka by 59 runs and Pakistan by 88 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur's side finished fourth with seven points but peaked at the right moment. Shafali Verma, an injury replacement, scored 87 off 78 balls and took 2/36 in the final. Deepti Sharma's all-round excellence earned her tournament honors with 215 runs and 22 wickets.
