Confused Indians bombard Aryan Khan’s Brazilian girlfriend Larissa Bonesi’s

2 min read

A political controversy in India has led to widespread confusion on social media. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi held a press conference on Wednesday alleging electoral fraud in the Haryana elections. He claimed a Brazilian model's photograph appeared 22 times across polling booths under different names like Seema, Sweety, and Saraswati. This sparked national attention, but many confused social media users mistakenly identified the woman as Larissa Bonesi, a Brazilian model and rumoured girlfriend of filmmaker Aryan Khan. Indians flooded Bonesi's Instagram with comments about Rahul Gandhi and congratulations on her unexpected fame. Another Brazilian model, Larissa Nery, later claimed to be the actual woman in Gandhi's presentation. However, confused users continued targeting Bonesi instead. The 31-year-old Bonesi has worked in Indian films for over a decade and has been romantically linked to Aryan Khan, though neither has confirmed the relationship.

Social Media Confusion and Mistaken Identity

Following Rahul Gandhi's press conference, thousands of Indian social media users mistakenly targeted Larissa Bonesi's Instagram account. Her recent posts received hundreds of comments featuring Rahul Gandhi's pictures and messages. One popular comment stating "You are famous in India" received almost 200 likes by Thursday afternoon. Users referred to her as a "BJP voter from Brazil" and congratulated her on "Indian citizenship." Bonesi has not responded to the flood of comments. Some of her fans attempted to clarify the mix-up, explaining she is not the woman shown in Gandhi's presentation. Meanwhile, another Brazilian model, Larissa Nery, came forward claiming to be the actual person whose photograph was displayed, but confusion persisted among Indian netizens.
