Veteran actor Anupam Kher visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to celebrate Guru Nanak Jayanti on Wednesday, November 5. He shared a video on Instagram of himself offering prayers at the holy shrine, extending his warm wishes to followers on the 556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism. The occasion is celebrated with prayers, processions, and community meals known as langars, honouring Guru Nanak Dev's teachings of selfless service, monotheism, and equality. Guru Nanak Jayanti is a public holiday in several Indian states including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. The 70-year-old actor has been actively engaging with his fans on social media, recently also sending birthday wishes to Shah Rukh Khan on his 60th birthday. The two actors have worked together in numerous popular Bollywood films over the years.
