Author Twinkle Khanna and actor Kajol recently launched their chat show, Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, on Prime Video. The show premiered on September 25, with new episodes releasing every Thursday. Various celebrities, including Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Govinda, Chunky Panday, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Janhvi Kapoor, appeared as guests. In a conversation with The Nod Mag, Twinkle revealed the effort required to bring certain guests on board. She disclosed that actor Govinda was particularly difficult to convince. Kajol even visited his home personally to invite him. The duo wanted guest pairings that audiences would find interesting and nostalgic. During the show, Govinda shared insights about his career, discussing how he faced challenges when articles claimed his time was over, eventually leading him to produce films like Aa Gaya Hero.
Convincing Govinda to Join the Show Required Extra Effort
While discussing guest selections with The Nod Mag, Twinkle Khanna explained that securing Govinda for the show proved challenging. The team made numerous phone calls, and Kajol personally went to his house to extend the invitation. Twinkle emphasized that Govinda is an icon, and pairing him with Chunky Panday offered a nostalgic appeal for viewers. On the show, Govinda reflected on his career, speaking about periods when life seemed stagnant and media articles suggested his career was declining. He responded by producing Aa Gaya Hero and collaborating on Partner with David Dhawan and Salman Khan. Govinda compared artists to being in a womb, fortunate to experience rebirth repeatedly through different creative projects.
