Khushi Kapoor has begun filming Mom 2, the sequel to her late mother Sridevi's acclaimed 2017 film Mom. Fresh pictures from the set surfaced on social media on Khushi's 25th birthday, showing her alongside TV actor Karishma Tanna. The shoot reportedly started last week in Mumbai shortly after Diwali, with approximately 10 days of filming already wrapped. Filmmaker Boney Kapoor announced the project in March this year, revealing that Khushi would follow in Sridevi's footsteps by headlining the sequel. Sridevi won a posthumous National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the original Mom. While the first film was directed by Ravi Udyawar, the sequel is being helmed by Girish Kohli, who wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the original. Reports suggest Boney Kapoor may officially announce the film on his birthday, November 11. This marks Khushi's fourth film project.

Filming Progress and New Director Take Charge
The sequel commenced shooting last week in Mumbai, with 10 days of production already completed. Khushi Kapoor will reportedly play a crucial role, and the production is progressing smoothly. Unlike the original Mom, which was directed by Ravi Udyawar, Mom 2 is being directed by Girish Kohli. Kohli was one of the story writers for the first film and solely authored its screenplay and dialogues. Producer Boney Kapoor chose him to helm the sequel, believing he understands the series well. Kohli also directed the Sohum Shah-starrer Crazxy released earlier this year. Industry sources indicate that Boney Kapoor may officially announce the film in a grand manner on his birthday, November 11. This will be Khushi's fourth film following The Archies, Loveyapa, and Nadaaniyan.
