A tragic road accident occurred on Wednesday morning in Patna when a truck collided with an overcrowded auto-rickshaw. The auto was carrying approximately 12 people who were traveling from Jehanabad to Patna for a holy dip in the Ganges river. After completing nearly 22 kilometers of their journey, the truck struck the vehicle near Simri Fourlane on Gaya-Dobhi Road. The impact caused the auto to overturn into a water-filled roadside pit. Three people died in the accident, including two women who died at the scene and one man who passed away during treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). Six others were injured, including children, and are currently receiving medical care at PMCH. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. Police from Parsa Bazaar station and traffic police responded to the incident, and investigations are ongoing.

Accident Details and Police Response

The accident took place on Gaya-Dobhi Road near Simri Fourlane. Following the collision, the auto-rickshaw overturned into a water-filled pit beside the road. Police from Parsa Bazaar station arrived at the scene after receiving information and alerted Bypass Zero Mile Traffic station. Traffic police also reached the location promptly. All injured passengers were rushed to PMCH for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination. Parsa station in-charge Menka Rani confirmed that the auto was carrying more than 12 passengers. The truck driver escaped from the spot immediately after the crash. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the entire matter. Medical treatment for all injured individuals continues at PMCH hospital.
