A historic fair is returning to Kaithi village in Khagaria district's Chautham block after final preparations were completed. The Kartik Purnima Mela will take place from 7 to 9 November at Madhya Baurane panchayat. Originally scheduled to begin on 6 November, the dates were postponed due to assembly election procedures and related administrative approval delays. The three-day event has been organized continuously since 1936, making it nearly nine decades old. Traditional wrestling matches, cultural performances, and entertainment rides for children will be featured. The fair committee is rapidly finishing idol installation, pandal construction, and entrance gate decoration work. A special consecration ceremony for the idol is planned for Wednesday evening after Purnima prayers. Local leaders confirmed that administrative cooperation has been extended to ensure peaceful proceedings. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend this regional landmark celebration.

Event Details and Historical Significance

The fair will be held from 7 to 9 November in Kaithi village under Madhya Baurane panchayat. Committee chairman and deputy chief Mukesh Singh explained that this fair has been continuously organized since 1936, marking nearly 89 years of tradition. Local chief Shashibhushan Kumar noted that the event has become a regional identity, attracting thousands of participants annually. The dates were modified from the original 6 November start because assembly election requirements caused administrative permission delays. All preparations have been completed, and the administration is providing necessary support to ensure peaceful conduct. Traditional wrestling competitions, cultural programs, and children's rides will feature prominently. Wednesday evening will witness the consecration ceremony following Purnima prayers.
