Chetna Jhamb, contesting as an independent candidate from the Samastipur Assembly constituency, faces charges of violating the Model Code of Conduct. The case was registered based on a complaint by Circle Officer Saloni Karan following an investigation. On November 2, Jhamb allegedly organized a procession and rally with her supporters in the municipal area without obtaining prior permission. The inquiry confirmed no permission was sought, and witnesses were also documented in the investigation report. Jhamb had initially joined the Jan Suraj party with much fanfare in Patna but was denied a ticket from Samastipur. Disappointed, she filed her nomination as an independent candidate with encouragement from her supporters. Separately, Jan Suraj also faces a code violation case in Rosera constituency, where Prashant Kishor reportedly started his roadshow much later than scheduled and deviated from the approved route.

Allegations and Background of the Violation Case
The case against Chetna Jhamb was filed after the Circle Officer received a complaint regarding an unauthorized rally. According to the FIR, Jhamb conducted a procession in urban areas on November 2 afternoon without permission, violating the Model Code of Conduct. An investigation was launched, which confirmed the absence of any official approval for the event. The inquiry report included statements from multiple witnesses. Jhamb had joined Jan Suraj in Patna but did not receive the party ticket from Samastipur. Feeling let down, especially after Prashant Kishor's assurances, she decided to contest independently. She stated she had been working continuously in the area for development and felt hurt when the ticket was given to a candidate from another party. Her supporters encouraged her to run.
