On the final day of campaigning for the assembly elections, leader of opposition and former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav addressed three back-to-back rallies in Darbhanga district on Tuesday. He spoke in support of Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) candidates in Darbhanga Nagar, Hayaghat, and Alinagar assembly constituencies. At each venue, Yadav made a significant promise to provide free electricity for farmers' irrigation and announced that under the 'Mai Behen Yojana' scheme, 30,000 rupees would be transferred to the accounts of every mother and sister on Makar Sankranti (January 14). He also pledged to provide government jobs in every household. The rallies saw enthusiastic support as Tejashwi urged voters to choose the Mahagathbandhan for saving democracy, ending unemployment, and maintaining communal harmony. He kept his speeches brief, mentioning he had ten more rallies scheduled that day.
