2 min read

Former Union Minister Smriti Irani held a press conference in Patna on Tuesday, where she criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal and praised the NDA government's efforts for women empowerment in Bihar. She thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for economically strengthening women through various schemes. Irani highlighted that the double-engine government has directly transferred funds to beneficiaries, built toilets for safety, provided gas cylinders to free women from kitchen smoke, and encouraged small businesses. She stated that over 11 lakh women groups have been empowered and ₹10,000 has been directly deposited into women's accounts. Irani accused RJD of being anti-women, claiming that Bihar's women will not accept their promises. She emphasized that the NDA government gave women 33% reservation and freed Bihar from crime. Irani appealed for the return of the NDA government to ensure Bihar progresses with dignity.

Criticism of RJD and Support for NDA's Women Welfare Schemes

Smriti Irani strongly criticized the RJD, calling it anti-women. She expressed pain over RJD leaders writing to the Election Commission requesting a stop to financial aid meant for women's economic empowerment. Irani opposed this proposal and saluted Bihar's women, stating they stand with the NDA and will not listen to RJD's false promises. She listed benefits under Prime Minister Modi's leadership: over 3 crore women benefited from Jan Dhan Yojana, 1 crore 16 lakh sisters received fuel under Ujjwala Yojana, 11 lakh groups became economically empowered under Jeevika, and 1 crore 30 lakh women received ₹10,000 in their accounts. She credited the NDA for providing 33% reservation to women and rescuing Bihar from crime.
