Actor Celina Jaitly has received significant relief from the Delhi High Court regarding her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, who has been detained in the UAE since September 2024. The court on Monday directed the Central government to provide effective legal representation to her brother and urged authorities to help establish contact between the siblings. Vikrant was allegedly detained over a national security case, leaving Celina struggling as the sole surviving immediate blood relative. The court has asked the Ministry of External Affairs to submit a detailed status report within four weeks, with the next hearing scheduled for December 4. Celina expressed immense gratitude for the court's decision after fourteen months of what she described as a nightmare, hoping it will help bring her brother home safely.

Court Directs Government Action and Next Hearing Details
In her petition, Celina stated that her brother was illegally detained on September 6, 2024, in the UAE. Since then, she has been unable to obtain any information about his welfare or legal status. Vikrant has been residing in the UAE since 2016, working with Matiti Group, a firm involved in trading, consultancy, and risk management services. Following the hearing, the Delhi High Court directed the Ministry of External Affairs to file a detailed status report within four weeks. The matter is scheduled to be heard next on December 4. Celina expressed relief and gratitude, stating she had finally reached the light at the end of the dark tunnel after fourteen arduous months of struggle.
