During his birthday fan meet-and-greet in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about reuniting with Deepika Padukone in King. He assured fans that the film will have romance, saying there will definitely be love in the movie. This will mark their sixth collaboration after memorable films including Om Shanti Om and Pathaan. Shah Rukh also praised director Siddharth Anand, calling him highly organized and aesthetically gifted. He mentioned learning action hero techniques from Siddharth during Pathaan, which later helped him in Jawan. Shah Rukh admitted he had not done many massy hero films before, except perhaps Karan Arjun (1995). He expressed excitement about creating a new kind of macho hero with Siddharth's guidance and aesthetic vision.
