Bhanu Bogavarapu's debut directorial venture, Mass Jathara, hit theatres on November 1, with paid premieres starting a day earlier. The film stars Ravi Teja and Sreeleela in lead roles, with supporting performances from Naveen Chandra, Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Samuthirakani, and Murali Sharma. Produced by Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas, and Srikara Studios, the commercial entertainer tells the story of Laxman Bheri, a railway policeman who confronts injustice beyond his official jurisdiction. His main adversary is Sivudu, a kingpin operating an illegal marijuana empire. Despite releasing after multiple delays, Mass Jathara faced stiff competition from SS Rajamouli's re-release of Baahubali: The Epic, which opened on the same day. The clash has significantly impacted the film's box office performance, though it shows modest improvement over Ravi Teja's previous release, Mr Bachchan. The lukewarm initial response raises questions about its weekday prospects.

Box Office Numbers and Baahubali Competition
Mass Jathara collected an estimated ₹2.9 crore from its premiere on Friday. The film earned approximately ₹3.75 crore on Saturday and ₹3 crore on Sunday, bringing its total net India collection to around ₹9.65 crore over two days including premieres. These figures mark a marginal improvement over Ravi Teja's previous film, Mr Bachchan, which collected ₹6.35 crore in its first two days. However, the film has been massively overshadowed by the re-release of Baahubali: The Epic, which earned ₹18.05 crore net in India during the same period. The competition from the blockbuster re-release continues to affect Mass Jathara's theatrical run, and industry observers are watching whether it can gain momentum during weekdays.
