The Staff Selection Commission has announced recruitment for 552 Head Constable positions in Delhi Police for the year 2025. The posts are divided into two categories: 370 positions for male candidates serving as AWO/TPO (Authorized Warrant Officer/Traffic Police Officer) and 182 positions for female candidates in the same roles. Vacancies are distributed across multiple reservation categories including Unreserved, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST, with separate quotas for Open, Ex-Servicemen, and Departmental candidates. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 at Pay Level-04, along with standard government allowances. The selection process includes a written examination and physical efficiency tests. Candidates must meet specific height, chest (for males), and running requirements. The computer-based test will have 100 questions to be completed in 90 minutes, covering general awareness, science, mathematics, reasoning, and computer fundamentals.
Vacancy Distribution and Exam Structure
The recruitment offers 370 male positions distributed as 285 Open, 49 Ex-Servicemen, and 36 Departmental candidates, while 182 female positions include 163 Open and 19 Departmental vacancies. The written examination consists of five sections totaling 100 marks: General Awareness (20 marks), General Science (25 marks), Mathematics (25 marks), Reasoning (20 marks), and Computer Fundamentals including MS Office and Internet (10 marks). Candidates receive 90 minutes to complete the test. Physical tests require male candidates to run 1600 meters in 7 minutes, while female candidates must complete 800 meters in 5 minutes. Males need a minimum height of 170 cm (165 cm for ST), and females require 157 cm (152 cm for ST).
