He became the third Afghanistan batter to cross the 2000-run mark in T20 Internationals, joining Mohammad Nabi and Mohammad Shahzad in this elite group. Gurbaz achieved this feat with a brilliant knock of 92 runs off 48 balls, which included eight fours and five sixes. His explosive innings helped Afghanistan post 210 runs for three wickets and secure a nine-run victory over Zimbabwe. This win completed a whitewash of the T20I series for Afghanistan, who bounced back strongly after their defeat in the one-off Test match. Gurbaz was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has become the third Afghanistan player to score over 2000 runs in T20 Internationals. Mohammad Nabi leads the list with 2862 runs from 167 matches at a strike rate of 136.48, while Mohammad Shahzad has accumulated 2605 runs from 95 matches with a strike rate of 129.15. Gurbaz reached 2067 runs in just 80 innings with an impressive strike rate of 134.83. The wicketkeeper-batter fell eight runs short of what could have been his second T20I century when he was dismissed in the 16th over with Afghanistan's score at 159. His dismissal came through a spectacular catch by Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza.
