Hundreds of devotees in Purnea bid farewell to Maa Kali on Thursday. Immersion processions started from major puja pandals like Bhatta Durgabari, Rajni Chowk, Captainpara, and Barihat. Devotees carried Maa Kali's idol on a flower-decorated vehicle, accompanied by Bengali dhak drums and chants. Women in traditional attire performed aarti. The processions reached Saura Ghat in Purnea City, where idols were immersed amid Vedic chants. Police and SDRF teams were deployed for security. The four-day puja festival ended with devotees praying for Maa Kali's return next year. The city echoed with chants of 'Jai Maa Kali' throughout the farewell.
