Mukesh Sahani, leader of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), has been named the deputy chief minister candidate by Bihar's Mahagathbandhan alliance. The announcement came alongside Tejashwi Yadav's nomination as the CM face. Sahani, known as the 'Son of Mallah', represents the Extremely Backward Class (EBC) vote, which makes up 30% of Bihar's electorate. The Nishad community, to which Sahani belongs, forms 9.6% of the population. At 44, Sahani aims to become a pan-state EBC leader. He started as a set designer in Bollywood before entering politics.
