Naga Leader Muivah Returns to Hometown After 50 YearsSaralnama

Thuingaleng Muivah, 91, leader of the Naga movement, returned to his native village Somdal in Manipur. He visited after over 50 years. A chopper landed at 3 pm in a newly-made helipad. Villagers welcomed him with Naga flags. Muivah first stopped at Ukhrul district for a reception. His deputy V S Atem spoke on his behalf. Muivah stressed the need for a Naga flag and constitution. He will stay in Somdal till. The village made special preparations, including a statue of Muivah and his wife. Locals expressed joy and hope for the Naga cause.
