13 Districts to Offer Free Agniveer Training in UttarakhandSaralnama

13 districts in Uttarakhand will soon start free pre-recruitment training for Agniveer aspirants. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the Sports and Youth Welfare Department to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for this initiative. The training aims to help local youth build careers in the army, following Uttarakhand's strong military tradition. Eligibility requires candidates to be permanent residents of Uttarakhand or currently studying/working in the state. The government has also decided to provide reservation in state government jobs for Agniveers after their service period. This move supports Uttarakhand's legacy, where almost every family has a member serving in the armed forces. (Updated 23 Oct 2025, 16:49 IST; source: link)
