Heavy rain continues in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Schools and colleges are closed in many districts. Chennai schools remain shut. Tamil Nadu lost 33% crops due to flooding of 16,000 hectares of farmland. Kerala banned night travel in Idukki's hilly areas. Tirupati roads flooded with 2-3 feet water. IMD issued red alert for 7 areas in Tamil Nadu and 6 districts in Andhra Pradesh. Orange alert for 10 Kerala districts. Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul-Spiti recorded -0.7°C. SDRF on high alert.
