Muslim MLAs in Bihar have made up about 8% of the total state legislators since 1990. In the 2020 elections, 19 Muslim candidates were elected, representing 7.81% of the 243-member Assembly. For the upcoming polls on 6 and, the RJD has named 18 Muslims among its 143 candidates, while the Congress has fielded 10. The JD(U) has nominated only 4 Muslim faces out of 101 candidates.
