Noida, 01 July 2024:  Indian Railways’ Railway Recruitment Boards are expected to announce openings for Staff Nurses sometime in the third quarter of 2024, allowing qualified and interested individuals to apply.

While there isn’t official confirmation yet, there’s good news for aspiring Staff Nurses! The recruitment drive advertisement for Indian Railways is expected to be released around May 2024, with applications opening online on the RRB websites.

The official date for the Staff Nurse recruitment notification on the regional Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) web portals remains undisclosed. However, there’s strong speculation of a release sometime in the third quarter of 2024. The application link will be activated within the notification itself upon its official release.

RRB Staff Nurse Eligibility 2024

Aspiring Staff Nurses for Indian Railways must possess a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) degree or a three-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution. Additionally, candidates’ age must fall between 18 and 40 years on the application deadline.

RRB Staff Nurse Fee 2024

Application fee for Staff Nurse positions under Indian Railways is ₹500. However, there’s a reduced fee of ₹250 for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PwBDs), Women, Transgenders, Minority communities, and Economically Backward Class (EBC).

Note:Those who pay ₹500 out of the total fee of ₹400 will receive a refund after completing the Computer-Based Test, while reserved category candidates will receive a ₹250 refund.

RRB Staff Nurse Selection Process 2024

The selection process for the Staff Nurse position consists of two stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Document Verification

Candidates who clear the CBT will proceed to the Document Verification stage. The final selection list will be prepared based on the outcomes of these stages.

RRB Staff Nurse Exam Pattern 2024

The written exam for the Staff Nurse position under the Indian Railways, conducted by the RRBs, will be in Computer Test mode. It will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions covering the following sections:

– Professional Ability
– General Awareness
– General Arithmetic, General Intelligence, and Reasoning
– General Science

Each question carries 1 mark, and there is a penalty of ¼ mark for each incorrect response. Candidates will have a maximum time duration of one hour and thirty minutes to attempt the maximum number of questions.
