The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) will soon include negative marking in its evaluation process. This new rule will apply to institutions with retracted research papers or misleading citations and data manipulation. NBA Chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe said this step is necessary to prevent research misconduct. NIRF currently assesses institutions on five main criteria.
