JEE Main 2026: NTA Advises Students to Update Documents Before October Registration

September 30, 2025, New Delhi — National Testing Agency has issued an advisory for JEE Main 2026 asking students to update their documents before registration begins in October to avoid complications during the application process.

NTA has advised candidates to update their Aadhaar Card, UDID Card, and Category Certificates including EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL before applying for the examination scheduled in two sessions.

Documents to Update

Aadhaar Card: Should be updated with correct name matching 10th class certificate, date of birth, latest photograph, current address, and father’s name.

UDID Card (for Persons with Disabilities): Must be valid, updated, and renewed as required for divyang candidates.

Category Certificate: EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL category students should get new category certificates issued or update existing ones to avoid any discrepancies.

Application Timeline

According to NTA notification, JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions. Session 1 exam will be held in January 2026, while Session 2 exam will take place in April 2026.

Registration for Session 1 will start in October 2025. Students are advised to complete document updates before the application process begins.

  • Visit the official NTA JEE Main website
  • Click on “Online Application Form for JEE Main 2026 Session-1” under Latest News section
  • Click on New Registration link and complete registration process
  • Upload required details, photograph, and signature after registration
  • Pay the prescribed application fee to complete the process

Admission Programs

JEE Main Paper 1 provides admission to undergraduate engineering programs (BE/BTech). Paper 2 offers admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses at NITs, IITs, and top universities across India.
