September 29, 2025, New York — External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar strongly criticized Pakistan and countries supporting terrorism during his address at the United Nations, emphasizing the need for international cooperation against terror.
In his speech at the UN General Assembly, Jaishankar exposed Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorism and its role in destabilizing the region. He called out nations that provide safe havens and backing to terrorist organizations.
The External Affairs Minister stressed that terrorism remains one of the biggest threats to global peace and security. “Countries that sponsor, support, or provide safe havens to terrorists must be held accountable,” Jaishankar stated firmly.
He emphasized that the international community needs to adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward terrorism. No distinction should be made between different terrorist groups based on political considerations, he added.
Jaishankar highlighted India’s consistent stand against terrorism and urged the UN to strengthen mechanisms for countering terror financing and cross-border terrorism. He called for reforms in international institutions to address emerging security challenges effectively.
The minister pointed out that some countries continue to use terrorism as an instrument of state policy, undermining regional stability and global security efforts. He demanded that the international community must unite to isolate such nations.
Jaishankar’s strong statement at the UN comes amid India’s continued efforts to expose Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terrorism. India has repeatedly raised concerns about terror activities originating from Pakistani territory.
The External Affairs Minister called for genuine international cooperation based on concrete action rather than selective approaches to combating terrorism. He stressed that double standards in dealing with terrorism weaken collective security efforts.
His remarks received attention from the international community as India continues advocating for comprehensive action against terrorism at global forums.
