September 29, 2025, Lucknow — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a stern warning against those using religious slogans to provoke youth and spread disorder in society.

Addressing the recent incidents involving “I Love Mohammad” slogans that led to violence in several cities, the Chief Minister stated that elements trying to disrupt peace will not be spared.

“Those engaging in anti-national activities will face strict punishment,” CM Yogi said. He warned that attempts to create communal tensions through provocative messages and violence will be dealt with firmly under the law.

The statement comes after violence erupted in Bareilly on September 26 following Friday prayers. Police have arrested 69 people so far in connection with the riots, including main conspirator Maulana Tauqeer Raza who has been sent to Farrukhabad jail.

Weapons including pistols, cartridges, and stones were recovered from the arrested accused. A Special Investigation Team has been formed to investigate the entire incident.

The Chief Minister emphasized that maintaining law and order is the government’s top priority. He directed officials to take strongest action against anyone attempting to disturb social harmony and peace in the state.

Police are using CCTV footage and drone surveillance to identify remaining suspects involved in the violence. Authorities have appealed to citizens to maintain peace and not fall prey to provocative elements.

Heavy security deployment continues in sensitive areas across cities where tensions arose. The administration is closely monitoring the situation to prevent any further incidents.
