PM Modi laid the foundation stone for IIT Jammu's Phase-B expansion on via video link. The ₹1,398 crore project will add new academic buildings, labs, and India's first northern research park. Union Minister Jitendra Singh attended the event on campus. He said IIT Jammu, set up in 2016, has become a hub for innovation and start-ups. The institute ranked 56th in the 2025 NIRF Engineering list. Phase-A construction is already complete. The government plans to expand five new IITs, including Jammu, with ₹11,828 crore.
