Jewar International Airport Set for October 30 Inauguration, Final Work Underway

1 min read

Noida, September 27: Preparations are in full swing for the inauguration of Jewar International Airport on October 30, with major construction work entering its final phase.

Officials from Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YAPL) recently inspected the site, confirming that critical infrastructure such as the terminal building and the Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower is nearing completion. Workers in large numbers are deployed across key sections to ensure deadlines are met.

The airport is being developed to handle both domestic and international flights, with facilities for global arrivals already taking shape. The apron section of the terminal has been readied to welcome international passengers, while navigation lights are being installed on the runway to meet operational standards.

Once inaugurated, Jewar Airport will open with domestic commercial flights, and gradually scale up to full international operations. Officials say the project is expected to decongest Delhi’s IGI Airport and position Noida-Greater Noida as a major aviation hub.

The launch of Jewar International Airport is seen as a transformative step for Delhi-NCR’s connectivity and economy, boosting trade, tourism, and employment opportunities in the region.
