Noida News: ‘Coffee With Cops’ Café Rista Brings Policing Closer to People

1 min read

Noida, September 27: In a unique step towards community-friendly policing, Noida Police has launched Café Rista inside the Police Commissionerate at Sector 108. The initiative, backed by Police Commissioner IPS Lakshmi Singh and officers Preeti Yadav and Babloo Kumar, aims to bridge the gap between citizens and police through open dialogue in a relaxed setting.

The café, located near the Family Dispute Resolution Clinic, offers pastel interiors, quirky wall quotes, and affordable meals like sandwiches, paranthas, and samosas—roughly ₹200 for two people. Designed for complainants waiting during mediation sessions, as well as for officers and their families, Café Rista is being praised for turning the police station into a welcoming and inclusive space.

“Complainants can now sort differences in a relaxed environment instead of feeling restless while waiting,” explained Additional DCP Preeti Yadav, underlining the café’s citizen-first philosophy.

Beyond food, the café represents a shift in policing culture—prioritizing emotional intelligence, empathy, and trust-building. Its Bollywood-themed décor adds a light, approachable touch, making it stand out as a symbol of progressive governance.

Police officials say the café also supports officers’ mental well-being, offering a retreat after demanding duties. With its positive reception, Café Rista may soon inspire similar models in other cities, reinforcing the idea that trust can begin over a cup of coffee.
