Noida Authority to Develop Urban Villages as Model Areas, Focus on Sewer and Water Supply

1 min read

Noida, September 26, 2025: The Noida Authority has launched a plan to transform urban villages into model settlements, with a special focus on improving sewerage and water supply. The project will cover 81 villages that contributed land during the city’s expansion.

In the first phase, 15 to 17 villages will be taken up, as their current conditions are considered the most critical. Each village will get a dedicated sewer pumping station and an underground water reservoir to ensure smooth drainage and uninterrupted water supply.

Officials said the move aims to bring urban villages at par with the city’s planned sectors. The Authority’s long-term vision is to make these villages clean, sustainable, and well-equipped with basic infrastructure.

Work plans have already been drawn up, and implementation is expected to begin soon. Authorities believe that once completed, the model villages will not only improve the quality of life for residents but also showcase Noida’s commitment to balanced urban development.
