Noida: The Uttar Pradesh government has restored a 2,000 sq m plot in Sector 106, Noida, to GPL Infrabuild after eight years of dispute. Officials ruled that the possession delay from 2017 to 2025 will be treated as a “zero period”, waiving penalties.
Earlier, the Noida Authority had cancelled the allotment citing non-payment, but the company challenged the order. After review, the government ruled that since physical possession was never handed over, developers could not be penalised.
Urban experts say this decision could influence many stalled projects in Noida and Greater Noida, where developers cite possession delays as a major obstacle.
