Noida: Gautam Buddha Nagar police have expelled 274 habitual offenders under the Goonda Act between January 2024 and September 2025.
According to officials, these offenders were involved in extortion, gang activity, repeated violence, and other anti-social acts. The district administration passed expulsion orders for 55 offenders in Noida, 95 in Central Noida, and 124 in Greater Noida.
Senior police officers said this aggressive enforcement is part of a zero-tolerance policy against crime. By expelling known criminals, authorities aim to create a safer environment for residents and businesses.
Legal experts say the use of the Goonda Act has increased in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in NCR districts like Noida and Ghaziabad, to curb rising urban crime.
