Noida: The Noida Authority has announced that the city will soon have 1,200 designated stray dog feeding points. This move comes after a Supreme Court order directing urban bodies to regulate animal feeding in public areas.
Officials said the project, costing nearly ₹2.5 crore, will begin with mapping locations across all sectors and residential pockets. Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Apartment Owners’ Associations (AOAs) will be involved to ensure smooth implementation.
To prevent conflicts, the Authority will install signboards and take strict action against those feeding dogs outside designated areas. Parallel to this, a mass vaccination and sterilisation drive for stray dogs will also be carried out with support from NGOs.
The Noida stray dog policy is designed to improve hygiene, reduce human-animal conflict, and ensure safety in residential areas. Officials urged citizens to cooperate, stressing that stray dog management is a community responsibility.
